
Medical TechnologistResponsibilities:
Performs tests and procedures in assigned section(s), including those, which require the exercise of independent judgment and responsibility with minimum supervision. Independently performs qualitative and quantitative tests, following established guidelines and predetermined criteria. Identifies problems that may adversely affect test performance and/or results and used knowledge, deductive skills and judgment to troubleshoot and resolve them. May be assigned to assume duties of a charge technologist in the absence of the senior medical technologist or supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Medical Technology or related science; and successful completion of training in an approved Medical Technology program.
- Specialist: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Medical Technology or related science; minimum one year of training or pertinent experience in speciality area.
- Hawaii: Hawaii State License as a Technologist or Specialist
- Hawaii/Guam: Certified as an MT by one of the following National Commission of Health Certifying Agencies or by an agency recognized by the Hawaii Department of Health Laboratories Branch: ASCP, NCA or HEW.
- Saipan: Certification preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbal and written form.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and with a team.
- Excellent customer service skills.
